Los Alamos is completely surrounded by mountains on all sides. I love mountains.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.

Los Alamos is a cute little town. Emphasis on little. Yes, they have a McDonalds,
but that and 4 other restaurants is about it. They have one grocery store for the town. Literally - one. But the town is also home to Bradbury Science Museum, Fuller Lodge, Bandelier National Monument, and a park. 
Los Alamos is a very historical city. ("I love the idea of a [city] with a past." Name that movie!)
