Cake time!

Cake flour, sugar, milk, shortening, egg whites, butter, all purpose flour, and baking soda: $27.79
Mixing bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, and stand mixer: $397.55

My sister has asked me to make the cake for her husband's 40th birthday party in January. I'm so honored and excited and nervous all at the same time! So, in an effort to start practicing early, I made a cake work and here are the results:
It's devil's food cake with chocolate buttercream icing with raspberry buttercream filling.

I'm sorry if you didn't get a piece...but look, I did save one for you!

    Oh, Lori, will you marry me? I just fussed at Spence for not bringing any home to me and he said it was all gone before staff meeting was over! So jealous!
